Aviation lighting specialist PWI has added four newly certified LED cabin lighting systems to its growing range, bringing modern, high-performance lighting to the Cessna Citation III, VI, and VII (650 series) jets.

The new FAA PMA-approved systems are designed to replace the ageing fluorescent lights originally installed in these cabins, delivering significant improvements in reliability, performance, and ease of installation.

Based in Wichita, Kansas, PWI has been designing and manufacturing aviation lighting solutions since 1963.

Robi Lorik, The company’s president and CEO, said: “We are very proud of our Made in the USA legacy and the continued high-level performance of our team here in Wichita.

“These new LED lighting systems reflect our commitment to quality and innovation.”

Designed to match the layout of the original fluorescent lighting systems, the PWI LED solutions enable straightforward installation with no need to replace wiring.

The systems arrive pre-measured and pre-assembled, reducing labour hours and simplifying the process for engineers.

As well as being easier to install, the new LED systems eliminate many of the drawbacks of fluorescent lighting, including flickering, buzzing, hums, and slow cold-weather starts.

The 4,000K neutral white light delivers a modern look with no heat output, no noise, and instant-on functionality.

The systems run directly on 28-volt aircraft power without the need for ballasts. They are tailored to each aircraft type’s cabin layout, including upwash lights in the headliner and downwash lighting above the windows.

The systems are available under the following part numbers:
