The Piper M-Class Owners & Pilots Association (PMOPA) has announced 5X5 Aviation Insurance as its new preferred insurance partner, offering members access to discounted cover.
The newly launched insurer, which is seeking to expand nationwide, is now authorised to write aviation policies in six US states: Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Alabama and Virginia.
PMOPA members will receive a 5% discount on premiums, while those enrolled in the association’s Master Aviator safety programme can qualify for further reductions of up to 20%.
The partnership will also see the two organisations work together on underwriting standards and operational best practices to ensure policies reflect how members operate their aircraft.
Mike Nichols, chief executive of PMOPA, said: “Not only do members have access to top-notch resources and a vibrant community, but now they can also save significantly on their insurance by participating in our safety programmes. It’s a win-win for our members’ safety and their bottom line.”
The announcement was made during PMOPA’s annual convention and fly-in at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
