Jet Aviation has achieved approval from US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to become a United States Visa Waiver Program (US-VWP) signatory carrier for flight services in Singapore, Hong Kong and San Marino.
The Visa Waiver Program allows travellers from VWP countries to fly to the US with Jet Aviation’s US-VWP certified carriers under the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) – eliminating the need to apply for a traditional visa.
For clients, this development can mean increased efficiency, Jet Aviation said.
Cheryl Alejandro, vice president of flight services for the APAC region at Jet Aviation, said: “Many people choose charter flights for the flexibility and efficiency to travel where and when they want.
“Now that Jet Aviation’s entities in Singapore, Hong Kong, and San Marino are designated as signatory carriers under the US-VWP, our clients can book the next earliest flight and stay ahead of their schedule without having to wait for a visa.”
According to US CBP, citizens of VWP-participating countries can travel to the US for up to 90 days for tourism, business or transit using the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) without a visa, provided that they fly with a US-VWP signatory carrier.
Passengers flying with non-signatory carriers are still required to obtain a valid US visa, which may involve longer processing times.
Simon Lo, director of ground operations for the APAC region at Jet Aviation, said: “With over 40 years of global experience in flight services, including 20 years in APAC, and managing flight operations for some 300 aircraft across our network, we have developed robust operational procedures aligned with industry best practices.
“The team has built a strong track record of executing every flight operation in compliance with CBP procedures.
“This collaborative approach and consistent compliance with regulatory standards has also enabled us to establish a strong relationship with the immigration authorities.”
Since 2001, Jet Aviation has been providing aircraft management in the APAC region.
Alejandro added: “This status is a mark of trust – an affirmation of our longstanding commitment to regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
“At Jet Aviation, we continuously strive to maintain a consistent standard of excellence across our global network, by upholding the highest levels of safety and compliance while delivering seamless flight services, which gives authorities and clients alike the confidence in our flight operations.”
With this new designation, the company’s certified entities in Singapore, Hong Kong, and San Marino are now better equipped than ever to serve clients heading to the United States — enabling an efficient and seamless service across its global network, Jet Aviation said.
