European business aviation event EBACE 2026 cancelled amid changing market conditions

The European Business Aviation Association has cancelled its flagship industry event, EBACE 2026, citing insufficient momentum to deliver a viable edition.

The show, which had been due to take place in Geneva from 2 to 4 June, has long been one of Europe’s leading gatherings for the business aviation sector.

Industry platform no longer viable in current format

EBAA said the decision followed a review of market conditions and industry engagement, concluding that the 2026 format had failed to generate the necessary support from exhibitors and attendees.

The association described the move as “responsible and transparent”, adding that it would now redirect resources towards its core role of representing and advocating for the sector across Europe.

Event central to sector engagement

The European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) has traditionally served as a key platform for the industry, bringing together manufacturers, operators and service providers to network, conduct business and showcase innovation.

Organised “by the industry, for the industry”, the event has also played a role in supporting EBAA’s wider mission to strengthen business aviation, improve connectivity and promote sustainable growth.

Efforts to modernise the event

In recent years, EBAA has sought to reshape the event in response to shifting market dynamics and feedback from participants.

The 2025 edition introduced a stronger focus on business-to-business engagement, alongside expanded networking opportunities, dedicated meeting zones and a refreshed brand identity.

For 2026, further changes had been planned, including the return of a redesigned static aircraft display, enhanced engagement with operators, and new networking spaces such as an operator lounge.

Competitive pressures and evolving expectations

EBAA acknowledged that the broader events landscape has become increasingly competitive, with evolving expectations from exhibitors, partners and attendees.

Participation models have also shifted in recent years, requiring trade shows to adapt their format and value proposition to remain relevant.

Focus shifts to future engagement

Following the cancellation, EBAA said it would focus on developing new initiatives and platforms better aligned with the needs of its members and the wider European business aviation community.

The association added that it remains committed to ensuring the sector is effectively represented in political, regulatory and public discussions shaping its future.

Stefan Benz, Chief Executive Officer of EBAA, said: “This is a difficult decision, and one we have not taken lightly.

“We know it will cause disappointment for exhibitors, partners and participants who had committed to this year’s event and placed their trust in it.

“However, we believe this is the most responsible course of action. It is also the right decision to help minimise further impact on those who had already committed to the event, and it reflects the transparency and seriousness with which we must act towards our members and the wider market.”

Juergen Wiese, EBAA Chairman, added: “EBAA was founded to serve Europe’s business aviation community, and that purpose remains unchanged.

“Our mission is to represent this industry on behalf of our members, advocate for them, and help create the conditions in which they can continue to sustainably operate their businesses across Europe.

“EBACE has historically been an important enabler in support of that mission, but the format must respond to what the market and our members genuinely need and value.

“Together with our members, we will continue to shape the right platforms and approaches to support the industry in the years ahead.”
