Avflight Corporation hosted a grand opening reception, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, for its brand-new FBO facility in Harrisburg, Penn. (KMDT), on May 24.
The 5,000 square foot, state-of-the-art FBO building features a conference room, kitchen, pilot lounge, three private pilot rooms, office spaces, a catering kitchen and more. The FBO facility mirrors the contemporary Avflight style for which the brand is known.
Avflight’s facility is situated in a premier location on the airport field next to the main terminal and across the street from a new Marriott-property hotel, which is currently under construction.
“By investing in general aviation—and investing in the Harrisburg region—Avflight’s able to further its goal as a connection facilitator,” said Carl Muhs, Avflight president.
“We are proud to be the gateway to central Pennsylvania and, with this new facility, we’re now a more attractive option for tenants. This drives more corporate traffic to Harrisburg and helps support the vitality of the local economy.
Avflight is, after all, a member of the Harrisburg community—investing in its infrastructure is a priority for us.”
The new facility is phase one of a two-part development plan for the FBO. Shortly following the grand opening of the FBO facility, Avflight will break ground on a new hangar to total 30,000 square feet.
The hangar will be able to accommodate ultra-long-range Gulfstream and Bombardier Global aircraft. Avflight expects the hangar to be complete by January 2019.
“It’s a great day for the Avflight Harrisburg family and its customers,” said Joe Meszaros, Avflight’s director of operations. “We’ll be able to provide a more comfortable experience at KMDT to match our incomparable level of service. It will truly speak to the spirit of the Avflight brand and serve as an impressive first impression for visitors to Harrisburg.”
