His experience across the board covers passenger, ramp and cargo areas - in the field, at the headquarters and in training. 

Initially a Member of the IATA Cargo Agency Training Board, later he joined IATA Dangerous Goods Board and is its current Vice Chair. Bala is advisor to UAE in the ICAO DGP as well. 

A prolific international speaker on Ground handling and Dangerous Goods and areas, he is Manager Cargo Global Operations Services with Emirates SkyCargo at its headquarters. His areas of responsibilities include global

• Standards and Procedures
• Managing Ground handling agents related to cargo and freighter

His academic background includes

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce with Economics and Statistics
• Bachelor's degree in Law
• MBA with specialisation in International Business Strategy

His passion is cricket and South Indian classical music. His family comprises of his wife, a French teacher and two daughters, all of them with multi faceted talents.
