Rhenus Air wins cargo award

Rhenus Air – logistics service provider – has been awarded the cargo award for its innovative policy at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in connection with the development of e-freight and its commitment to a paperless supply chain. The award was presented by Ad Rutten, Executive Vice President & COO of Schiphol Group to Paul Parramore, COO of Rhenus BV.

Rhenus Air in the Netherlands has been an active partner in the development of the IATA e-freight project whose goal it is to migrate from paper based process to a data driven process for transportation of goods. This project is a joint air cargo industry programme of shippers, forwarders, ground handlers, carriers, customs brokers and customs, facilitated by IATA.
By end 2010, 44 locations and 76 airports will have gone live which will account for 80% of the international trade.
