Norwegian to underpin commercial strategy by adopting Amadeus’ IT services
Amadeus and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (Norwegian) the second largest airline in Scandinavia carrying over 15 million passengers a year, have announce an agreement for the airline to migrate to Amadeus’ Altéa suite. With this agreement, the carrier will evolve its use of Amadeus systems to incorporate the full Altéa suite of solutions in order to benefit from Amadeus’ ticketing, codeshare and interline functionality.
Adoption of next-generation technology will support Norwegian’s IT modernisation programme and equip the airline with the tools and flexibility to respond effectively to its customers’ changing needs whilst improving operational efficiency, preparing it also for long haul operations next year.
Amadeus now has 115 Altéa customers contracted worldwide. Based on these contracts, Amadeus estimates that the number of Passengers Boarded (PB) will be more than 725m by 2014.
