Celebi Cargo agreement with LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines at Frankfurt

Cargo Airports and ServicesAfter a very successful start-up in FRA with United Airlines adding Continental Airlines, Turkish Airlines and GrandstarCargo as largest customers, Celebi Cargo GmbH has finalised a full handling agreement with LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines. LAN and TAM are currently in the process of merging their organisations. Celebi began providing TAM with cargo handling services at the end of May 2012 and will begin providing LAN with cargo handling services on July 2012. The additional volume represents a 30 per cent increase in volumes per annum for Celebi in Frankfurt as well as expanding Celebi's product portfolio with both wide-bodies and full-freighter products.
Both LAN and TAM operate daily flights into the Americas, also some freighters per week. Both carriers are showing significant growth (some 20 per cent growth in volume in 2011) and a focus on special products. Celebi has recently completed the construction of a temperature-controlled unit of 60 sqm in its facility to accommodate the handling of perishable products and cargoes requiring special temperature control. Furthermore, through its seamless automation, Celebi hopes to be able to provide the carriers full measurements of all aspects of its handling in order to ensure that the highest quality measurements are met, which surpass the traditional handling products at Frankfurt Airport. Other products such as supervision, co-ordination outside of Frankfurt are being offered.
