Bristol Airport based Bristol Flying Centre (BFC) Group has opened its newly expanded FBO in time to handle a huge increase in business.
The 6,500 square foot FBO has doubled from its previous size to offer two separate lounges for private and charter flights and will become fully DFT compliant, providing the ability to handle non-derogated flights over 10 tonnes for the first time. The facility also features a separate crew lounge and redesigned passenger reception areas.
The FBO, which is the only one at Bristol Airport and the only fully equipped facility in the South West of England, has recently seen a massive increase in handling business resulting in a 1700 percent growth in annual passenger numbers.
Bristol Flying Centre Group, which incorporates the operator Centreline Air Charter, already employs 46 staff at the facility and has increased the numbers to handle its continuously growing business. Phil Brockwell, CEO of the BFC Group said “This expansion has been critical for our customers and staff and we are now ready for our next stage of growth. Bristol Airport have been hugely supportive in this development and in enabling us to become a self-sufficient operation for our clients. We have already had an overwhelming response from the passengers impressed by what they have experienced when using the new facility”.
From the start of April 2013, Bristol Flying Centre will complete its service capability with the acquisition of a dedicated fuel bowser which will enable the FBO to offer the most cost effective fuel to its customers and, in particular, save money for operators looking for tech stops from the Middle East and the USA.
Paul Davies, Operations Director at Bristol Airport, commented “It is important for Bristol Airport to be able to offer private and executive aviation customers a world class facility and the Bristol Flying Centre does that. The success of the business there shows the benefits of Bristol Airport’s location to all sectors of the aviation industry”.
The Bristol Flying Centre Group now offers a complete handling, engineering, fuelling and hangarage service as well as aircraft management and charter through Centreline Air Charter.
