Al Bateen Executive Airport, operated and managed by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), has reported a 11 per cent increase in overall commercial aviation movements compared with 2010 and more than a 50 per cent increase in visiting business aviation traffic. These strong increases, achieved in a challenging economic climate, demonstrate the success of the airport in attracting corporate and VIP clients into the only dedicated business aviation airport in the GCC region.

The year-end performance report for Al Bateen Executive Airport highlighted that the airport registered 8,775 commercial aircraft movements in 2011.

2011 also witnessed the arrival of new businesses to the airport’s network of companies and tenants such as Rotana Jet as based aircraft operator and Jet Aviation that is now offering various aviation services from Al Bateen Executive Airport.

Further developments are moving ahead on schedule as the airport progresses its strategic aim of being one of the best dedicated business airports in the world. This year will see the completion of the Gate Gourmet dedicated executive inflight catering facility, the completion of several refurbished hangars, the extension of available MRO facilities and the development of high-end retail provision in the DhabiJet and VIP lounges.

The first quarter of 2012 will also be notable for the first Abu Dhabi Air Expo event that will be held at the airport in March. The Air Expo will play host to General Aviation exhibitors from all over the world and will be the Middle East’s leading general aviation exhibition featuring all of the latest products and innovations.
